The Power of the Rosary
Rev. Fr. Simon Peter Ramos, OP, the mass presider on the 8th day of the Family Rosary Crusade quoted “Ang Rosaryo ang ating power, ito ang panlaban natin.”, this indicates that the Rosary is the weapon of us Dominicans against demons—to beat the evil.
“Ang bawat Aba Ginoong Maria ay dagok, ito ay pagpalo at paghataw sa ulo ni Satanas.”
(Every Hail Mary is a blow, it is a beating on Satan’s head)
In exorcism, praying the rosary is the exorcist’s most effective prayer against all evil, the demon said 'Every Hail Mary is like a blow on my head; if every Christians knew how powerful the rosary was, it would be my end.”. Fr. Simon emphasized the power of the rosary and the 'Hail Mary' and what it can do against the forces of evil, particularly against Satan, the adversary of all that is good.
As a Dominican, we must always have the rosary in our pockets as it is what Mother Mary taught to us. There shall be no day in a year where we do not have the Rosary in our hands, we must have it whenever and wherever we go.
Rev. Fr. Ramos, OP also mentioned that sometimes we are happy, sometimes we are sad, sometimes we have struggles, sometimes it is light, and sometimes it is successful, however behind all this, we must not forget that we always have someone beside us. In a deeper sense this bunch of emotions are in every mystery of the holy rosary. This tells us that in every happiness, sadness, struggles and success, we always have a God who is with us.
He concluded his homily by reminding us Dominicans, that we have the power; the rosary which teaches us that we have someone with us, that we are not alone, and that whatever happens in our life, Jesus and Mary are always and forever alongside us.
